April 2021- Jesus Included Others

This month, let's focus on how you can include others as Jesus did.

How can you include others? Have you ever noticed someone alone and maybe a bit too shy to ask to play with you? You can ask them to join you. Some kids talk different, or need extra effort to feel included. Jesus included all people and especially made sure that children received his love and attention. Make it a goal to look for those who need to be included and find ways to involve them in what you are doing.

Watch this video of your Primary friends from the 15th ward talking about ways they can include others.

For the Little Ones: Like Jesus we can include others! If you see someone who might look sad or lonely think of what you could do to include or help them. We can be like Jesus everyday!
Jesus said “Suffer the little children to come unto me.”

Song of the Month

Music is a powerful tool that can help children learn the Gospel! Here are tips for teaching the Song of the Month.

January - Joseph Smith's First Prayer (Hymns no. 26)

Try putting actions with each line of the song.

February - I Want to Be a Missionary Now (CS pg. 103)

Sing the song to the children, and then repeat but take out a key word, like "missionary" and see if the kids can guess what word belongs there.

March - When I am Baptized (CS pg. 103)

Have the children draw pictures of something that goes with each line of the song. As you sing, have them hold up the picture that goes with each line.

April - Jesus Said Love Everyone (CS pg. 61)

Telephone game - whisper the first line of the song into the child's ear, and have them pass it on to the next child or family member. Continue on until the last person says what they heard. Repeat with the next line and so on.

May - Choose the Right (Hymns, no.239)

Say the words to the song and have the children hurry and stand up and then sit down every time they hear "Choose the Right". Eventually have them sing it with you and see if they can stand up and sit down while singing the words.

June - I'm Trying to Be like Jesus (CS pg. 78-79)

This song is easiest to teach one line at a time. Go through the first line of the song, and have one child or family member choose an action for the others to follow as they all sing the first line of the song (swaying from side to side, rolling arms, etc.). Repeat the SAME line of the song but have someone else choose a different action for everyone to follow. Repeat a couple times until everyone knows the first line, then move on to the next line.
